ACCOMODATIONS...
On our property we have several genuine Indian Tipis made by Nomadics Tipi, company in North America that made tipis for Kevin Costner's movie "Dances With Wolves." The tipis are heated and furnished. Being inside a tipi is living a step closer to nature. During the day, a tipi has a mellow, even illumination that has never been equaled in a house. When it rains, it is cozy and dry inside while the drumming of the raindrops overhead soothes the soul. At night, especially during the full moon, shadows of surrounding trees are painted on the cover of the wall and with clear skies, stars shine down between the poles in the smoke hole.
Recently finished Buffalo Lodge is a 1924. restored log home. Restoration followed traditional construction techniques. It is insulated with sheep's wool, plastered with a lime-sand plaster and with separate gray and black water systems the lodge is a showcase of sustainable living, which is also evident in the use of highly efficient polycarbonate glazing. It is heated with a big woodstove that is used for cooking and hot water. Crystal clear water is supplied from a nearby spring. Lodge features two full bathrooms (one of them with a large bath tub for two people!), office, wireless Internet, library, fully equipped kitchen, and it sleeps 6 people on two levels. An example of luxurious country living.
