Our vision for Velika Plana is to grow into an international community of vibrant and like-minded people, in the community for the future.
We strive to build the community on ecotopic principles, also known as steady-state economy. On a practical level that means creation of a village in which all inhabitants are ecologically aware, sustainability oriented and mentally and spiritually mature and content, regardless of their faith or lack thereof. Our binding principles are clear understanding that we are all part of the web of life, and what we do to our surrounding directly affects us and our well being. We are not an island, nor privileged species and if we do not leverage the faculties we have been given or we have evolved into having, we are facing more difficult and more hard-to-sustain times. Velika Plana serves as an experiment where we want to show we can get organized and be operational on a principles that are not dependent on large support systems, large government handouts, or complicated regulations.
This is not trip back in time, but continuing evolution, leveraging all that is evolutionary proven. For example, Linden Tree utilizes products of modern technologies (e.g. polycarbonate glazing), in conjunction with evolution-proven methods (building with wood, strawbale, adobe, etc.) to create dwellings that are superb in their living qualities in comparison to conventionally build structures.
We own land, water and forest and we see those as our treasure. Rather than using it up, we live of the interest that these resources accumulate when properly managed!
We invite people who find our ideas appealing to contact us. There are many ways you can join our community, whether part-time or full-time. Possibilities range from coming to visit as a guest, volunteering with us for a while, taking a paid position (if we have an opening), or buying your own estate in the village.
