We at Linden Tree Retreat & Ranch take great pride in our nature conservation and habitat restoration projects. This time we will talk a bit about our rivers and wetlands. We are seeing amazing rebound of aquatic life in the streams and rivers crossing the ranch. Many insect species, frogs, and trout are coming back in numbers, and along with them the birds. Oh, in the evening, when frogs and birds start to sing, it is magical.
As a part of habitat restoration, we are aiming to bring back Brown Trout. It is a fish species located in clear, fast cold mountain rivers and streams. Latin name is Salmo Trutta.
Filip JJ Babli, our cowboy apprentice, and fishing enthusiast is behind trout project and is documenting both trout specimens (by recording their unique spot pattern) and its food source. If you have any question about this or any other nature conservation projects, including aprenticeships, please send us an email.
